Gisèle O’Brien

As far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a vet. It may have a lot to do with the petting zoo we had in my kindergarten class. Not yet able to speak French, the only way I could express myself was to talk to the animal in my language. That is when I decided I wanted to be a vet. From then on, all my efforts in school were geared to achieving this goal, first by obtaining my degree in Animal Science (B. Sc. Agriculture) at McGill in 1986, then my doctorate from the University of Montreal in 1990 then my post-doctorate (Dip. Pathology) from the University of Guelph in 1991. I am celebrating my 30th anniversary as a veterinarian and am still passionate about my career, with all of it’s happy and sad moments, as well as the challenges it brings. It is a true honor for me to help your pets lead a happy and healthy life in order to nurture the bond you have with them.

By the way, I am now fluently bilingual.
